School News

It’s been another busy week here at Spinning. We loved seeing all of the students who participated in our first virtual Spirit Week. It was fun to see staff and students dressing up and showing their Viking Pride! Please check out our Spinning Facebook page for pictures😊😊 We realize that the beginning of this school year wasn’t what anyone would have wished for or expected, but our goal is to make sure students and families still feel a part of our Spinning Community! Please continue to reach out with any concerns or questions you may have. We are here to serve the Viking community. Have a wonderful weekend!

Veteran’s Day
Our music teacher, Mr. DeBolt is putting together a virtual assembly for Veteran’s Day. We would love to honor Veterans from the Spinning Community in our assembly. If you know a Veteran you would like to honor, please send a picture along with the name, branch of military served and connection to a Spinning student to Mr. Debolt @ deboln@puyallup.k12.wa.us.

Remember to vote Nov. 3
Voters in Puyallup School District are being asked to consider an Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Supplemental Levy that would generate a maximum amount of $37 million over two years to help sustain school district operations. Link here to view the Informational Town Hall recording and presentation in case you missed it.

November Trait of the Month – Caring
Our focus for the month of November at Spinning will be on: Caring - Showing you understand the needs of others. Talk with your child about how this may look in your family. Be watching for updates on our Facebook page for you to share how your child is showing the trait of caring.

Teachers are taking daily attendance during remote learning, just as they would during a traditional school year. We are still following mandates around attendance per OSPI. Remember to call the Front Office if you child will not be present in any Live Lessons and/or not participating in any assignments for that day. Students are expected to engage in learning via Live Lessons, turning in of assignments, small group instruction, etc. Basically, there needs to be evidence that participation took place in one of these areas. Otherwise, give us a call here at Spinning.

Any child age 0-18 is eligible to receive a free 5-day supply of breakfasts and lunches. Every school in the district hosts meal pickup on Mondays from 11-12. The next pickup is on Monday, October 26th. This is a drive-up service. Monday evening pickups are available by calling Food Service at 253.841.8773.
